The Unmistakable Beauty Of Nature

Beautiful Flower

In response to Cee’s Flower of the day challenge

I love photography. I cannot resist a beautiful flower. I am especially enamored with the natural beauty of God’s world.

I hope you enjoy it!

So I am currently fully vaccinated. With the first dose, I felt like I had a watered-down version of COVID that lasted about three days. During that time I took some ibuprofen and that helped. The second dose, which just about 5 days ago I had a sore arm.

I will admit I was a tad scared as I still had antibodies from my bout with COVID last July. A few of my co-workers had more dramatic reactions to the vaccine. But all in all, I would say it was not as bad as I feared.

The constant wearing of masks is making me have so many break-outs. I have so much hyperpigmentation from acne, but there is no other recourse at this time. We must wear the mask.

I have begun using Retin-A again to help with accelerated skin turnover. I used it about 8 years ago for a while then forgot about it until now. Will construct a post about it especially when I have pictures to show you the improvement.

How are you all keeping out there? Is everyone fully vaccinated? Are you having skin issues from wearing masks? Let me know how you are dealing with them.

Stay safe and be blessed.

  1. So happy you posted this bright spot of beauty…wonderful photo! Just looking at a flower brings so much joy. I hope the day will come when the masks are not part of everywhere we go and everything we do kind of thing. I am hoping that as more people get the vaccine, things will get better. Wishing you a good morning and thank you for posting some sunshine! 🙂

    1. Thank you, things are continuing to progress in the right direction. Have a great day!

  2. Hi Pene !
    Beautiful flowers to cheer us.
    We are partially vaccinated.
Mercifully we have had few people sick with covid on our island.
Glad that you are fully vaccinated now. 🤗

    1. Hello Ms Sally, good news indeed, more and more vaccinations being given. We have been vaccinating the public at our hospital as well. Things are looking promising though future boosters may be the order of the day.
      Have a blessed week!

      1. Thanks, Pene. Things are looking promising. 🤗⚘

        1. Yes they are, continued blessings.

          1. Thanks, Pene. Blessings to you and your family as well. 🤗⚘

  3. I was hesitant to receive the vaccine. I kept thinking and thinking and decided to sign up. I was automatically put on the J&J vaccine, which I was leery of due to other problems they had in the past. I called my doctor and she said it was fine. Not even one day later, reports came out with people getting blood clots. Talk about having anxiety, which I never do. I prayed and prayed and gave it all over to God. Today is 3 weeks since I had the vaccine. I’m glad I got vaccinated, but never want to be anxious again. God Bless.

    1. Hi Sandy, I completely understand your anxiety. I got the Mederna and yet I was anxious. But thank God all is well and will continue to be so. Before I took my vaccine, I prayed that it would only offer me the protection I need and do nothing else and I am still standing on that word.
      Have a wonderful week!

  4. Glad you are healthy but so unfortunate for your skins reaction – my skin is SO reactive and I’ve had to be a scientist all my adult life to figure out what irritates it. 😝

Pure aloe Vera I’ve found helps soothe and heal. Amazon has some 100% pure 👍🏻

Stay strong. Fighting Covid on the front line is exhausting and oppressive in so many ways. God bless ❣️

    1. Oh thank you for the aloe tip. My mom drinks it, I can’t stand the taste of it, but I will put some fresh juice on my face. I had forgotten its great healing properties.
      Thank you!!!
      Stay well.

      1. ❤️🤗

  5. Yay! Glad to know you are reacting well to the vaccine. 🙌
I only tend to have itchy nose after wearing it for a while. 😓

    1. Yes, it will be a blessing to finally breathe again.
      Have a wonderful day.

  6. I am fully vaccinated. One nice thing for me about wearing a mask outside is fewer problems with tree pollen allergies.

    1. Hello big brother, so happy to hear that you are fully vaccinated, good for you.
So the mask is a great option for you, perhaps you can keep it up during the times when pollen count is high you can wear one.

  7. congrats to you! I am getting my first shot in three weeks. So over the masks as well

  8. I’m glad you are healing, in these times I’m even more appreciative of nature. Thankfully, I haven’t had any skin issues from wearing the masks.

    1. That is good news, how is the garden coming along?

      1. It’s coming along fine, thanks for asking. I’m currently growing tomatoes, spinach, white beans, papaya, okra, callaloo and pumpkin. I’m harvesting spinach and white beans but the others are not bearing yet.

Last December I planted pak choi and I have been harvesting them since January, they’re almost done.

I took some pictures so I’ll post an update soon on my blog.

        1. Happy to hear from you and that your garden is doing well. Cannot wait to see your pictures.

  9. I’m glad to here you’re vaccinated. My partner and I are as well, and what a relief that is! I was lucky and had no reaction at all, but I’d have waded through crocodiles to get vaccinated.

Okay, maybe not crocodiles. Fish. Small friendly fish. Muddy water. Whatever–I’m grateful for the vaccines and everyone who made them possible.

    1. Lol, happy to hear more and more of us are getting vaccinated, especially since the restrictions are getting looser each day.

      1. I just noticed that I wrote “here” instead of “hear.” Ouch. My typing’s getting worse by the day.

        1. Lol, it happens.

  10. I am also funny vaccinated. The first dose was a nightmare but the second one was easy. I had Panadol and went on with my duties. I feared for the acne too but God has saved me from them. I am sorry about that. Go slow on yourself though. it shall be well
