PSALM-91: The LORD is Our Fortress

The Incarcerated (6)

The LORD is Our Refuge & Our Fortress

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress,

my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely He will deliver you

from the snare of the fowler,

and from the deadly plague.

He will cover you with His feathers;

under His wings you will find refuge;

His faithfulness is a shield and rampart.

You will not fear the terror of the night,

nor the arrow that flies by day,

nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,

nor the calamity that destroys at noon.

Though a thousand may fall at your side,

and ten thousand at your right hand,

no harm will come near you.

You will only see it with your eyes

and witness the punishment of the wicked.

Because you have made the LORD your dwelling

my refuge, the Most High

no evil will befall you,

no plague will approach your tent.

For He will command His angels concerning you

to guard you in all your ways.

They will lift you up in their hands,

so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

You will tread on the lion and cobra;

you will trample the young lion and serpent.

“Because he loves Me, I will deliver him;

because he knows My name, I will protect him.

When he calls out to Me,

I will answer him;

I will be with him in trouble.

I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life I will satisfy him

and show him My salvation.”

I have printed this Psalm and placed it by all the entrances to my home, just like God instructed in days past. I feel the need to hear and read this Psalm each day and remember His promises to us.

I feel God’s comfort and peace. I still practice common-sense hygiene and wear my mask but I am not paralyzed by fear.

Hope this brings some peace and comfort as it has brought me … stay safe and be blessed!

Please feel free to share this with anyone and share with me/us any scriptures that have brought you God’s peace.

  1. Yes Sis! Good verse. Thanks for sharing.

    1. This is my mantra for these times, gives me comfort and reminds me of God’s promise.
      Stay safe.

  2. This book is a practical approach towards achieving a peaceful & positive state of mind & hence life. In these fast-paced, social media oriented times, health is the last thought on our mind yet this book so clearly makes us consider peace & health as the most important assests through the story of a city man who comes across a mystic in his village. How the Guruji keenly explains the proper way of life step-by-step to the man is worth following. Even though this idea is not so unique, this book still is a welcome change if we allow it to be by implementing, one thing at a time. I liked reading it & finished it in one single sitting with a sincere hope to consider my lifestyle in some possible ways as well.

    1. Amen, Thank you for visiting.

  4. great inspiring ceres… the Lord has always been a fortress to me many times, but not too long again, I find myself in a new trap and wonder why I lose faith in the Lord. may the Lord continue to show himself up as my fortress

    1. That’s what we do as humans and it is great to have a reminder sometimes.

  5. yes, really, reminders always remind us that the Lord can do it again

  6. I think it is excellent that you seek inspiration and faith from the Bible but at the same time you are careful and don’t take risks that God would expect you to avoid.

  7. Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
