Yesterday as I read the post of my friend Mitch over at American Daze Purple Haze, my spirit recognized yet another way that I have been led of God.
Many years ago in my pre-nursing days I was a mortgage underwriter. It was a good job, I learned many things about real estate and I earned a good living.
The mortgage industry was starting to go south. Many lenders were getting into predatory lending practices and it was all going to come crashing down sooner or later.
Since my heart surgery some years prior I had been toying with the idea of becoming a nurse. But my current situation was good and I was making a decent living, so I procrastinated.
Well here I was one bright mid-morning in sunny New York, sitting at my desk doing my normal work routine when the now familiar voice of God spoke to me right out of the blue!
“Go back to school”! God’s voice, according to my experience brooks no argument, it is a voice you will instantly recognize as an authoritative yet gentle voice. You CANNOT mistake that voice.
I stopped in my tracks said, “ok Lord”, picked up the phone and called the college I had previously attended and enrolled back in college that day for my prerequisites for nursing.
I went back to college to studied nursing and the rest as they say is history.
So yesterday, I realized and became so filled with gratitude on the ways God has directed all my paths each day of my life.
Thank God I heeded His voice and went back to school.
I look back and see God’s providence.
He knew what I would need and like ALL the other times he has again “brought me out of the land of Egypt“.
I again reminded my children of ALL the blessings we are receiving and that they should always call on and trust God for everything.
I/we pray constantly, but the last prayer at bedtime is to thank God for our lives and for His continued blessings and safety amidst this turmoil.
I trust Him now more than ever.
I tell my children of my experiences with God in the hopes that they will learn to trust as I do and I pray they take these lessons to heart.
What I am grateful for:
- That God loves me/us so much that he sent a Redeemer for us.
- That God has been so so good to me … as undeserving as I am.
- For health, my needs are supplied and I am never in want.
- My children (most days anyways), lol.
- I am still able to work.
- My family are safe and healthy and will continue to be so in Jesus’ name!
- Grateful always for this WordPress community … you help me in immeasurable ways! I thank you.
So my friends, what are you grateful for? I know I am leaving out many things.
