Good Morning

A beautiful pastel day image with the words good morning

Today I was reluctant to get out of bed. Since my father passed away some two weeks or so ago I have not been sleeping very well. Each night I wake up and remain so for several hours. My mind races with the regret of what could have been.

Alas, God is the master planner.

I would not be the me that I am today without the sum total of all the life experiences, so this was the path He chose for me.

I am content, but the subconscious still feels regret and as such, insomnia has been a frequent visitor.

On a lighter note, these are the flowers blooming outside my window today and I always find such joy in the things of nature.

  2. Oh, yes, death of loved one, regrets, insomnia, all a bad trip, but you bounce back, or out of bed at least with such a positive attitude it does the heart good to read your morning greeting. As they say in my native land, you’re a good egg, Pene.

    1. Thank you so much for your unwavering support.
      Be well!

  3. A big hug to you sis. I believe you will get through this phase and it’s okay to breathe through it and soak yourself in the things you love (e.g nature) and remind yourself that God is faithful – Always. He works all together for a greater good. ❤

  10. Sorry for your loss … when you wake it’s better to actually do something. For example read, blog, music etc saves the mind wallowing on what could have been and then you can sleep better afterwards!

Take care precious … it doesn’t rain but it pours for you

  11. Yes, grief is hard. I think maybe our minds have to work through everything and categorize all those thoughts, particularly the regrets, before peace is reached. Surrendering all the what if’s and if only’s to Jesus and recognizing His Sovereign love for us is an important step in finding that peace. Sounds like you’re on the right track.
God has blessed you with beautiful flowers! Thanks for sharing your pics with us, dear sister!
Prayers as you continue through the grieving process.
