America’s Continued SHAME!!!

View image on Twitter
Bernice King, daughter of the civil rights leader Martin Luther King, tweeted a composite image showing a screenshot of the officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck next to a photo of NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the US national anthem in protest over police brutality and social injustice. Image by Ms Bernice King.

Today I am sad. Yesterday I was sad as well.

My heart is heavy.

I like many others heard of the story of yet another black man in his 40’s killed by Police.

“Your knee in my neck. I can’t breathe… Mama. Mama,” Mr Floyd pleaded.

Mr Floyd slowly grew silent and motionless, unable to move even as the officers taunted him to “get up and get in the car.”

Why are these killings allowed to happen and to go unpunished. This is someone’s son and why is this OK????

If this were a dog, a cat or any other animal, everyone would be up in arms. There would be loud outcries and huge protests.

No one of us so-called powerful humans can prolong our own lives if God does not decree it to be so. Why then is this OK? No one can be forced to love anyone else but since we are all born into this universe that belongs to GOD and we had nothing to do with why, when, where HE chooses to place us and how HE decides we should look … we do not, should not feel like we own more of God’s universe than anyone else.

Not one of us had the choice on what race we are!

I am the mother of two sons, they were born in love, raised in love, they are not a menace to society. My heart aches for his mother, his family, for him!

As Ms Bernice King so aptly states:

If you’re unbothered or mildly bothered by the 1st knee, but outraged by the 2nd, then, in my father’s words, you’re “more devoted to order than to justice.” And more passionate about an anthem that supposedly symbolizes freedom than you are about a Black man’s freedom to live.

Father God when? This has to end!!

  1. I cringe every time I see or hear about that.
So very sad. God made us all and we’re all equal.

    1. Thank you Ms Lydia. Have a blessed day.

  2. It so sad that this has become the norm. The video was very difficult to watch. I want to know where are the all the White led churches in all of this? Where are your Rod Parsleys who says “when it comes to abortion right until the birth of the baby, we cannot remain silent.”

I saw a blog post from a blogger not too long ago (who is White) that talked about how abortion is wrong but I haven’t seen one post from her talking about how the unjust killings of African Americans is wrong. In fact, I commented on that posts and asked what her thoughts were on Black Lives Matter, there was never a reply back. People show you where their heart really is. Unfortunately, we live in a culture where unborn babies and animals are seen more valuable than the lives of people of color.

    1. All the God-loving people, who just love God conveniently, not enough of speak on social injustices. God is not a man that He is fooled… we have (all) our sons to pray for. This is too frequent, they know they can get away with it that’s why it continues.

      1. Exactly!!

  3. Very sad :/

  4. This made me cry.

    1. These reports are way too often.

  5. It makes me so angry every time an innocent black person is murdered by the police! Will America ever change? Nothing will bring George Floyd back to his family but let’s hope that this time justice will finally be served. As you said- racists will keep murdering black folks as long as they can get away with it.

    1. I do so hope justice is served. This behavior has got to stop.

  6. Since the federal government (e.g. the DOJ) has limited power in policing local police departments, it’s up to the National Association of Police Organizations to finally and firmly address racism and make the use of unnecessary brute force an automatic crime in itself.

    1. We will see hoe this one goes. There has to be some responsibility for these actions. The world is watching and comments on America’s racism always.
Thank you for your insight. Have a great day.

  7. Absolutely horrifying. I admit I don’t watch much news these days. Thanks for bringing up an important topic Pene. So very devastatingly sad.

    1. Very sad. I don’t indulge in the news that much myself. Too much… we will stress ourselves to an early grave.

  8. **A FEW** of these cases are not as clear as the media would have us believe. George Floyd’s case however, is CRYSTAL clear.

Even if we make the ASSUMPTION that he ended up pinned down like that due to resisting arrest, there’s ZERO excuse for keeping him pinned like that after he was subdued. He should have been cuffed and put in the back of the car like he was pleading for.

These are dirty cops who give the profession a bad name. They should be buried under the jail and never see the light of day again.

  9. There’s simply no excuse for killing him!! 🙁

  10. My heart goes out to this young man’s family. 😢 God doesn’t have favorites💛

    1. Thank you for your kindness. Have a blessed night.

  11. It’s hard to express words on this. It’s so abhorrent. I cant understand why we cant all live in a world with racial/social/age/gender equality. It’s a shame this is a dream rather than the reality. For the monster that did this, justice should prevail, shame on the system if it doesn’t.

    1. Good morning, it would be so great when we can all live. That’s all we just have to let others live their lives. So long as it is not hurting anyone others are entitled to live their own lives.

  12. Amen x 2, Pene!

  13. I believe America has a tendency and arrogance to rule over the world’s weaker nations and this behavior is visible in their police force also.

    1. Very true, every nation and people are not clamoring to live the “American dream” or nightmare. A heartbreaking behavior that continues to go on unpunished!

    2. The police are aware that they always get off easy with abusing citizens. But the total uncaring look of defiance on the animal that is killing someone and the other jackasses sworn to serve looking on …. it is too much to bear.

      1. Not all citizens, specific citizens are their target.

        1. Yes, persons of color.

  14. riots happen when there is no conversation about crucial issues …
my heart goes out to all those living in fear in their own country!

  15. Horrible and heartbreaking! Praying for his family and loved ones. Like you, I taught my children to love all people as God has taught us to do. All of us grieve; all of us suffer when a child of God suffers. The majority of people in this world are good and go out of their way to help others. Most people go out of their way to avoid injuring an animal; I have seen people almost go off the road because they do not want to hit an animal. I pray for this country in this hour…I pray for good to prevail. There are more of us with love in our hearts than those that seem devoid of love. How can we fail in the end, because God, who is the author of love is with us. There is no greater force in this world than love…the love of God for all of His children. This is what we must teach our children. This is the creed we must live by. “Love one another as I have loved you.”: John 15:12

    1. It would be great thing to see. The world sometimes just makes us tired. We have so much to process right now.
Thank you so much for your kind thoughts.
      Have a great day!

  16. hello! I heard news of riot like situations in USA due to the ongoing race-wars. I hope you and your family is safe. Please let me know how things are at your side.

    1. Good morning. Everyone is good. Gabe is ok as well. What is going on in the world is so crazy. We do not need to live and treat each other this way.
On top of the pandemic this is the last thing we all need.
Thank you so much for your kindness. Hope things are good on your side of the universe as well.

      1. Happy to hear back. Glad that you are fine. Take care and stay safe.

        1. Phew!. I was sad when I read it too and listening to the video clip I watched and seeing him kneel on it is just not a view I want to watch again. May we really live in love. Obviously, we are in a world lacking that. 😪

          1. Terrible times my dear. Protesting all over the US, mostly peaceful. This culture of killing black men MUST stop, these are our fathers, husbands, sons, brothers and neighbors. This is so heart breaking, I could not watch more than a few seconds of that video, breaks your heart. Yet the other cops did nothing to help save that man’s life.

            1. Yes sis. It is, and very sad too. We had a lady over here too, that was rapped and knocked out with fire extinguisher and eventually died and another lady too, and with what is happening over there too. Just pretty sad thinking about everything. 😪

I am praying for peace really. And love for one another because this is what we need most to stop this violence.

Please stay safe sis. Is your hubby back? And how are the children? ❤

              1. No he remains in NY, today is his 3rd day of not having any COVID patients, so things are looking up. Kids are ok…itching to get out, lol. but we keep on keeping on.
Thank you so very much for always being so kind.
                How is life treating you?

          2. The sad truth indeed

  17. So sorry about this and all the sadness it causes. 😢
    Know I’m praying for you and with you. {hugs}

  18. As a nation (and world), we need to hear the cries of inequality and injustice. I pray our nation will accept this call to action.

    1. So do I. So Do I. My heart is broken but I am hopeful for the unity I see. I thank you for your insight.

  19. “Law and order are everywhere the law and order which protect the established hierarchy.” In America and other places living while black is dangerous to your health, be careful, and shame on us all for allowing this.

  20. Praying for God’s intervention for a better world. Unfortunately, we will never had a perfect world and must wait for the perfect Heaven.

    1. Yes. I stand with you in earnest prayer my sister.

  21. I agree with you and Tangie – we need prayer! I am convinced that this is a spiritual battle, which we are not going to win in the flesh. The cold look on that officer’s face as he knelt on George Floyd’s neck looked positively demonic to me. When hearts are full of evil, they can only be changed from the inside, and the only One who can change a heart is Jesus. I pray for our nation every day, because I truly believe God is our only hope.

    1. You are so correct. Our world is in a complete state of unrest, the mess is everywhere. No country is immune.
And yes the mocking look on his face in the wake of all those witnesses was something to behold!
Prayers are all we have, we knoweth not what time this is … but something deep is going on.
Ebola is try to wake up,
Thank you for your faithful prayers.
